{"id":770,"date":"2026-02-21T16:16:50","date_gmt":"2026-02-21T15:16:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eyesoul.org\/games-to-practise-at-home\/"},"modified":"2026-02-28T20:07:12","modified_gmt":"2026-02-28T19:07:12","slug":"games-to-practise-at-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eyesoul.org\/en\/games-to-practise-at-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Games to practise ta home"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even though I mention <strong>these as games to practise at home<\/strong>, it doesn\u2019t mean that home is the only place where they can be practised.If you\u2019ve read the post about <a href=\"https:\/\/eyesoul.org\/en\/simple-materials-infinite-possibilities\/\">simple materials,<\/a> this one is a natural continuation. Not because anything needs to be followed in order, but because something very similar tends to happen both in sessions and at home.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before anything else, an important clarification:<br\/>These are not exercises to achieve anything special.<br\/><br\/><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They are not tests. They are not training.<br\/>And no \u2014 they are not meant to prove anything to anyone (not even to yourself).  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-a369416ffdf7458ff8b1801d19499b32 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#178a8f\"><strong>They are just games.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And from experience \u2014 in sessions and beyond \u2014 I can say that when someone takes them too seriously, they tend to stop being useful. That\u2019s when Ms. Frustration shows up\u2026 and there\u2019s not much left to do.<br\/>Curiously, when a smile or a silly laugh appears, the body begins to cooperate much more.<br\/>(You might not stop laughing afterwards\u2026) <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">The proposal is simpler than it seems<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is not about \u201cseeing well\u201d, noticing more, or having something interesting to report afterwards. It\u2019s about listening. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Listening to how the body responds.<br\/>Listening to what appears\u2026 or doesn\u2019t appear.<br\/>Listening even when all that\u2019s there is a big and honest: \u201cI don\u2019t feel anything.\u201d<br\/>It has happened to me \u2014 and it still does.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In sessions, that moment often comes with a sense of relief.<br\/>As if the body were saying: \u201cAh, okay\u2026 I don\u2019t have to do this right.\u201d <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">The atmosphere is almost everything<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can play alone, with your family, or with someone you trust. But more important than the game itself is the atmosphere. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You might feel like I\u2019m repeating myself. I probably am. But setting aside pressure, corrections, and hurry makes a big difference. I see it every day.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Add a bit of humour and care less about doing it right \u2014 and the cocktail is complete.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Some simple ideas<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Remember what I said before: there\u2019s no wrong way to do this. Everything is perfect.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-medium-font-size\">\n<li><strong>The Colour You Can Feel<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Choose a colour \u2014 out loud or silently \u2014 and notice what happens in your body.<br\/><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"489\" src=\"https:\/\/eyesoul.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/top-view-kids-playing-with-wooden-toy-1-1024x489.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-274\" style=\"width:544px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eyesoul.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/top-view-kids-playing-with-wooden-toy-1-980x468.jpg 980w, https:\/\/eyesoul.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/top-view-kids-playing-with-wooden-toy-1-480x229.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is not about imagining or guessing. Just notice what reaches you.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is it temperature? A strange emotion? A fleeting image? Or maybe the urge to yawn?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s not important to describe the shape. What matters is noticing how whatever comes, comes \u2014<br\/>as pressure, as an impulse\u2026.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-medium-font-size\">\n<li><strong>Shapes with the Hands<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One person makes a simple shape with their hands. What matters is noticing how whatever comes, comes \u2014<br\/>as pressure, as an impulse\u2026 Saying \u201cI have no idea\u201d is also an option \u2014 and possibly a doorway, even if it doesn\u2019t seem like it. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-medium-font-size\">\n<li><strong>The Photo That Speaks<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Place a photo face down and, without looking, listen to what appears. Here you can let your imagination move freely, without embarrassment. For example:  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A word. A sensation. A slightly absurd story. Or nothing at all.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can turn the photo over afterwards\u2026 or not. Because the game isn\u2019t in checking, but in that moment beforehand \u2014 when you allow yourself to listen without looking and without expectations. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-medium-font-size\">\n<li><strong>The Body\u2019s Yes and No<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ask simple, neutral questions. Nothing important. Nothing existential.<br\/>Often the body responds before the mind does:<br\/>a different breath, a small gesture, a soft tension, a turn of the head\u2026   <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">And if the familiar thought comes up:<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI think I\u2019m making this up\u201d \u2014 keep going anyway.<br\/>The body responds quietly, not particularly concerned with the mind\u2019s opinion.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Some important hints<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s not about getting it right. It\u2019s about noticing how what comes, comes\u2026 and also when nothing comes. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With children: fewer words, more laughter. With adults: less explanation, more curiosity. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And if one day you don\u2019t feel like playing \u2014 don\u2019t play. Listening to that \u201cno\u201d is also a form of perception.
